text of the motion passed Wednesday, June 3, 2009, by the assembly of IRRI 21:

Recognizing the need for scientific assessment teams, we, IRRI's 21, believe that some of the procedures implemented by AERES are unsuitable for research in humanities and social sciences. Therefore we reject the legitimacy of the criteria imposed on us especially on the following:

• Bibliometrics, journal ranking and prioritization of publications
Using
• sheets of academics for purposes other than the overall assessment teams;
• Overstatement of economic partnerships and technical
• not taken into account in the contingent of researchers to publish, some researchers plan (PRAG, retired teachers, Lecturer, PhD ...)
• not taken into account the specificities of certain disciplines (literature, arts and performing arts ...)
• Publication of assessments for purposes other than internal information to the scientific community .

Motion passed by 27 votes in favor and one abstention.
